Care & Repair Room
The life of a garment should not end with a loose button, a changing body or a damaged seam.
Atelier Repair Services
We build our garments with deep seams, ample seam allowances, and high-quality natural fibers, precisely so they can be repaired, adjusted, and re-worn across a lifetime. Selected Dervish pieces are eligible to return to our Istanbul atelier for maintenance and structural preservation.
Repairs & Seams
Mending loose threads, securing split seams, and reinforcing stress points under tension to restore structural integrity.
Fastenings & Buttons
Replacing lost buttons or hand-molded loop fasteners using matching thread lots and traditional closures.
Re-sizing & Alterations
Letting out or taking in seams to adapt the garment to your changing body, guided by the master's pattern lines.
Fiber Restoration
Gentle fabric pressing, steam shaping, and thread trimming to refresh the hand and fall of the natural textile.
Care by Material
Proper care is a form of respect for both the material and the labor that shaped it. Follow these quiet principles to extend the life of your natural Dervish garments:
Hemp & Linen
Hemp and linen fibers strengthen when wet but soften beautifully with use. Wash in cool water with mild, plant-based detergent. Do not wring or twist; lay flat to dry or hang. Iron while slightly damp using high heat.
Silk & Cupro
Cupro and silk possess a delicate, fluid fall. Hand wash cold or use a gentle, low-spin cycle. Air dry away from direct sunlight. Iron inside-out on low heat with a protective pressing cloth.
The Care Ritual
- Wash less: Natural fibers are naturally breathable and resist odors. Often, simple airing on a hanger is sufficient.
- Spot clean early: Address minor soil immediately using cool water and gentle tapping rather than full-cycle immersion.
- Store correctly: Store tailored pieces on structured hangers to preserve shoulder lines; fold fluid cupro sets to prevent stretching.
